DUDLEY, Mass. – Nichols College President Bill Pieczynski has announced the appointment of Susan Veshi as vice president for advancement. Veshi has served as interim vice president since December 2023.

As vice president, Veshi will lead the advancement and alumni relations team as it continues to seek financial investments in Nichols and engage with its dedicated alumni. Her deep knowledge of, and affinity for, Nichols alumni and friends will prove beneficial as the institution continues to include them in its efforts to recruit students; offer hands-on, experiential learning opportunities and internships; celebrate its storied history and raise funds.

“Susan is a valuable and respected member of the Nichols College community,” said President Bill Pieczynski. “During her 25-year career at Nichols she has managed a wide variety of institutional projects and priorities, including managing external communications and public relations; assisting with campaign management; writing and editing publications, proposals and advancement materials; conducting prospect research and managing prospect portfolios for fundraisers. Susan’s work extends across campus, and she is a trusted partner and active collaborator to all who know her.”

Veshi joined Nichols in 1998 as director of donor and prospect management before assuming roles of increasing responsibility within the advancement division. Prior to Nichols, she spent more than a decade at UMass Memorial Medical Center, where she served as director of publications. She began her career at Fordham University as a public relations specialist. She earned a bachelor’s in communications at Long Island University Post and a master’s in communications at Fordham.

In addition, Kathy Langlois has been promoted to executive assistant to the president and Board of Trustees. Langlois joined Nichols in 2014 as administrative assistant to the vice president for administration. She later became the executive assistant to the vice president for business and finance and the Board of Trustees, providing vitally important assistance to two key administrative areas. During the past year Kathy assumed multiple roles on several occasions, including serving the president’s office in an interim capacity this spring while supporting finance and the Board of Trustees.

Prior to working at Nichols, Langlois was a paralegal. A Nichols alumna, she received her bachelor’s degree in 2020.
