Nichols College names Cynthia Begin to Board of Trustees

DUDLEY, Mass. – Cynthia A. Begin has been elected to the Board of Trustees at Nichols College. She will begin her term of service at the board’s May 2022 meeting.  

Begin, a 1987 graduate of Nichols, is a career financial regulator having served in various roles with the Massachusetts Division of Banks for more than 25 years.  She currently serves as first deputy commissioner and has held other positions during her tenure including chief risk officer, senior deputy commissioner, and assistant general counsel. She participates in agency policy development and implementation and has oversight responsibility for agency operations and supervision programs. Previously, she held positions with the Massachusetts Share Insurance Corporation and at a Worcester-based bank holding company.

Begin serves on the Board of Managers of the State Regulatory Registry LLC and is a past president and board member of the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators for which she received a Distinguished Service Award in 2014.  

In addition to a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude, from Nichols, she holds a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School. She and her family reside in Boston.
